Options

Lessons

Lingoinn offers three types of Chinese lessons with typically 10-15 hours of private tuition per week. We customise the topics, levels and teaching methods to suit your learning style and goals.

  • General Chinese

    This course focuses on everyday communication skills, helping you build a strong foundation in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. It’s ideal for beginners and those looking to improve their overall proficiency.

  • Business Chinese

    Tailored for professionals, this course covers business-related vocabulary and scenarios, such as meetings, negotiations, and presentations. It’s perfect for those who need Mandarin for their work or business interactions.

  • HSK Exam Preparation

    This course is designed to help you prepare for the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi), the standard Chinese proficiency test. It focuses on the specific skills and knowledge required to excel in the exam, from beginner to advanced levels.

Cultural Activities

Cultural activities enhance your Mandarin learning experience by immersing you in the local culture and offering practical opportunities to practice your language skills. Each activity, led by your teacher or a professional instructor, lasts up to three hours.

  1. Traditional Arts

    Learn Chinese calligraphy, ink painting, origami, tea ceremony, and more. These activities not only teach you about Chinese art but also help you practice writing Chinese characters.

  2. Music

    Try playing traditional Chinese instruments like the Erhu or Guqin. This can be a fun way to engage with Chinese culture and improve your listening and speaking skills.

  3. Cooking Classes

    Learn to prepare traditional Chinese dishes with guidance from your teacher. This hands-on experience is a fantastic way to expand your food-related vocabulary while enjoying delicious meals.

  4. Martial Arts

    Participate in activities like Tai Chi, Qi Gong, or Wing Chun. These practices are deeply rooted in Chinese history and culture and offer a rich cultural experience.

  5. Traditional Chinese Games

    Interact with local people by playing Chinese Chess, Chinese Go and Mahjong under your teacher’s guidance, while learning local dialects and expressions.

Day Trips

These tours are designed to complement your language learning by providing real-world experiences and cultural insights while exploring the city and its surroundings. Typically, there is one day trip per week over the weekend, each lasting about 5 hours.

  1. Sightseeing Tours

    Explore local landmarks, historical sites, and natural landscapes with your teacher as your guide. These tours provide context to your language lessons and help you understand the cultural significance of different places.

  2. Festivals and Events

    Attend local festivals and cultural events to experience Chinese traditions firsthand. This can include activities like dragon boat racing, lantern festivals, and more.

Volunteering

Lingoinn has teamed up with charities in China and Taiwan to provide meaningful volunteering opportunities, so you can gain unique insights into these diverse countries and their society while making a positive impact on the local community. Please check with our team to confirm the availability of these opportunities in your chosen destination.

  1. Taimei Parent-Child Library

    Located in Pingtung County in Taiwan, volunteering tasks include general cleaning, book shelving, book wrapping, tidying up the garden, taking photos and videos at events and other daily maintenance for the library.

  2. Dener International Children’s Aid Society

    Located in Taichung Taiwan, Dener supports children in rural areas worldwide for their educational needs. Volunteers can participate in school visits, interact with children such as play games, do sports, teach simple English, read stories and other assistant teaching.

  3. Dalian Aina Autism Service Centre

    Located in Dalian China, Aina provides care, support, guidance and advice to people with autism and their families. Volunteering tasks include accompanying autistic people to engage in sports, carry out painting and craftwork, teaching fun English and other assistant teaching.
